چکیده

An amphiphilic fluorescent dye with a disulfonated BODIPY head group and a heptadecyl side chain is described. In buffered aqueous solution, the amphiphile can form aggregates with a critical micelle concentration of ∼20 μM. The aggregation of the dye is associated with a strong quenching of its fluorescence. Al(3+) promotes aggregation, whereas other metal ions have a much smaller effect, in particular when histidine is added as masking agent. The Al(3+)-induced aggregation can be used to sense Al(3+) in the low micromolar concentration range with high selectivity. Furthermore, we demonstrate that a dye-Al(3+) mixture can be used as a sensing ensemble for the detection of citric acid. The assay allows quantifying the citric acid content of commercial beverages such as energy drinks.

An amine/imine functionalized microporous MOF as a new fluorescent probe exhibiting selective sensing of Fe3+ and Al3+ over mixed metal ions

Nowadays metal-organic frameworks with multiple luminescent centers are very fascinating as multifunctional luminescent material because of their luminescence properties, which could be systematically tuned by deliberate use of organic ligands and metal ions. In this research, we explored a microporous mixed-ligand MOF for highly selective and sensitive detection of metal ions. A two-fold inter...

Design of a Fluorescent Sensor Based on the Polydopamine Nanoparticles for Detection of Gallic Acid

Background: Gallic acid (GA) is one of the polyphenolic compounds with antioxidant, antimicrobial and radical scavenging activities, which plays a main role in human health against cancer and cardiovascular diseases. GA concentration can be quantitatively measured in food, medicinal plants and body fluids. Materials and Methods: In this study, MnO2 nanosheets were prepared by reducing potassium...

Biomimetic synthesis of gold nanocrystals using a reducing amphiphile.

The first synthesis of a chelating and reactive surfactant derived from citric acid and a short silicone as hydrophobic tail is described. Aqueous solutions of this reactive amphiphile spontaneously induce gold ion reduction, particle nucleation, and further direct crystal growth. The process, both pH and light dependent, occurs through lipid-directed assembly of metal ions, their reduction and...

Effect of citric acid on antioxidant activity of garden cress (Lepidium sativum L.) under chromium stress

Chromium-VI would impose detrimental effects morphological, physiological, and metabolic in plants. This study aimed to research the impact of citric acid (0, 2.5 and 5 mM), on different the morphological and physiological characteristics of garden cress exposed to chromium-VI stress (0, 1, and 10 mM). Results showed that some growth parameters, chlorophyll, carotenoids, and DPPH activity decre...

Study on Effects of Ascorbic Acid and Citric Acid on Vase Life of Cut Lisianthus (Eustoma grandiflorum) ‘Mariachi Blue’

The postharvest life of cut Eustoma grandiflorum flowers is limited in open flowers. Therefore a factorial experiment based on a completely randomized design with ascorbic acid (AsA) at 4 levels (0, 100, 200, 300mg L-1) and citric acid (CA) at 3 levels (0, 100, 200 mg L-1) with 3 replications and 3 samples for each replications, was conducted for this purpose. Results indicated that a significa...
